Problems with My Expert GPT you may experience.

The extension window closes as soon as you move away from the page. The extension is not an editor, you may lose any unsaved data if you change context on your device while editing a role. The extension is activated by clicking on the icon and goes away when changing context.

Duplicate Roles When Changing Expert Name

If you make a change to the Expert Name and save it, the extension creates a new role to avoid clashes with any existing role. Delete the old expert role if not needed anymore. Remember, not an editor.

Expert Roles Not Found

We decided to use the synchronised storage of the supported browser provider by default, to allow all your devices to be in sync with the expert roles. It’s nice to have data synced everywhere, but the synchronised storage, like most storage, is not a reliable long term data storage. Under certain conditions, data may disappear: reinstall the extension, data transmission errors, crashes, browser update, changes to your Google account, privacy settings deleting data, clashes with other extensions etc.

Use a reliable data storage and a text editor for all your roles. Only copy & paste the final product.

Selecting, Inserting and then selecting the ChatGPT to start a chat

ChatGPT interface has a bot protection mechanism, it requires user gestures to activate the submission. After you insert the expert role in a new chat, click on the text box and press enter or the send icon to the right.

Use the extension on other websites, like Bing or Google Search

The extension is hard coded to work on chat.openai.com only.

Crashed the ChatGPT session

The extension does not interfere with the running of any ChatGPT sessions. Occasionally, OpenAI services stop responding and need a page, session or browser reload. This behaviour is not caused by the extension in any way. You probably already experienced many of these crashes before using the expert roles. To their credit, the OpenAI is doing a fantastic job serving millions every day.

It may stop working any time

The extension depends on the ChatGPT interface and URL. OpenAI may change the interface functionality or the URL at any time, without any warning and interfere with the way My Expert GPT works. We try to be as responsive as possible and react promptly to restore any impacted functionality, but we are not able to guarantee uninterrupted functionality.
